​TPC Launches 1st Ceiled Treatment Plant in Iran

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Tabriz Petrochemical Company (TPC) has launched Iran’s first covered wastewater treatment facility with €2 million of investment.

According to the plant, the project was launched on Wednesday in a ceremony held in the presence of Issa Kalantari, Vice President and Head of the Department of Environment.

Siavash Derfashi, the CEO of Tabriz Petrochemical Company, in this ceremony, considered the operation of this plant as a golden leaf on the greenness of the company, and stated: “In this project, first the surfaces of all ponds and open equipment were covered with special aluminum sheets and the flow of gases containing “voc” were sucked and collected by suctioners from the surface of the ponds and directed to the furnaces.”

Referring to 110 hectares of green space created inside Tabriz Petrochemical Complex and 6 hectares of green space outside of it, he said: "This complex is higher than the existing standards in energy management and uses the classification, identification and separation system to seek production of valuable gases that can be reused or sold after process modification.”

Derfashi stated that TPC is the first company to implement environmental system management, adding, in 2018, this complex was ranked first by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Tabriz Petrochemical Company is erected on a land with an area of 391 hectares and an altitude of 1362 meters above sea level in the southwest of Tabriz, northwestern Iran, and in the western neighborhood of Tabriz Refinery.
