Mojtaba Safaei, in an interview with NIPNA, underlined the importance of
the development of the petrochemical industry in the country's economic
prosperity, saying the sector is now regarded as a priority in Iran.
He said: "We should know that the realization of strategies in the
direction of achieving the second and third leaps of the petrochemical industry
can be achieved only by ensuring petrochemical development.”
Safaei pointed out that the production capacity of various petrochemical
products is growing and several projects in this industry have been put into
operation since the beginning of the current calendar year, which began on
March 21. “This shows that the petrochemical industry not only will not be
stopped by sanctions, but even sanctions can become an opportunity for the
development of this industry.”
He said: "Today, non-oil exports are of great importance and it
seems that the most appropriate way to increase non-oil exports is the leap of
the petrochemical industry and the widespread export of products of this
leading industry."
