TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Petrochemical Affairs said the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company (PRTC) was carrying out studies and exerting efforts to supply methanol and polymer catalysts which will make Iran self-sufficient in production of the item.

Behzad Mohammadi told the extraordinary general assembly of the PRTC that the company’s activities were based on new sciences and despite some problems, its performance was commendable.

He said PRTC abounded with very good scientific and professional potentialities, adding the role and position of this company should be highlighted more than before, he said.

“In the catalyst, process and chemical sectors, the company's performance is acceptable and in these sectors our colleagues and researchers do very well.”

"With the PRTC efforts in supplying methanol and polymer catalysts, the country will no longer need to import these items, and very important and valuable events are taking place,” he added.
