TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, announcing that the third leap in the petrochemical industry would be implemented soon, said: "It is necessary for the private sector to invest in the downstream part of large petrochemical projects so that we will witness a great development in this sector."

Dr. Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday (June 25), at the official opening ceremony of two projects and the start of the construction of a huge national project of the Goreh-Jask oil pipeline, that according to the Minister of Petroleum, 17 important projects in the petrochemical industry would come on stream by the end of the current calendar year, which began on March 20.

“With the opening of these projects, the country's petrochemical production revenue will double to reach $25 billion from currently $12b,” he said.

Rouhani also said that Jask would become an important hub for Iran's oil exports, adding that Iran’s ability to build such a huge pipeline project from Goreh in Bushehr province to Jask in Hormozgan province indicates the capability of the Iranian nation, researchers and craftsmen.

The President considered the implementation and construction of one-thousand-kilometer pipelines as a great achievement of Iranian manufacturers, and added: "Experts of Iranian companies, following the sanctions by the enemies, have taken on production of pipeline sheets for the purposes of the project and successfully completed it."

Dr. Rouhani expressed optimism that with the completion of this project by next March, one million barrels of Iranian oil would be exported from Jask on a daily basis.
