New Output Record for HDPE at Mehr Petchem Plant

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Mehr Petrochemical Plant managed to produce 190,000 tons of high density polyethylene (HDPE) in the last 6 months to set a new production record for the item.

The achievement was made possible in a year entitled by the Supreme Leader as the year of Production Leap and with the efforts exerted by the plant’s experts under international sanctions on the country.

The previous production record in the same period belonged to 2017 when the company supplied 161,000 tons of the items during 6 months.

In the last six months, Mehr Petrochemical Plant has also achieved the lowest ethylene consumption coefficient (1,022) since the complex's inauguration, which has led to the production of the lowest tonnage of by-products in recent years. This is while the plant is designed to consume 1,025 tons of ethylene for production of every ton of polyethylene.
