TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Most of Iran's neighboring countries, which used to meet their needs for polymer products from other countries, have changed their import strategy amid the coronavirus outbreak and have shifted towards Iranian suppliers.

Saeed Turkman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Iranian Polymer Industries, said: "The corona-related complications that have had a significant impact on all aspects of human life have also changed the production of polymer products."

Due to the limitations of transportation, on the one hand, export-oriented industries suffered serious damage, and on the other hand, many neighboring countries that had previously imported polymer products from other countries have changed their strategy and have been drawn to Iranian suppliers, he said.

This experience showed that most of Iran's neighboring countries to prefer to buy the goods they need from Iranian products of similar quality, the official added. “Thus, new export markets have opened for the Iranian polymer industry during the pandemic. Now, in order to make the most of this gift and expand the share of the export market and increase the value of this channel, more distinct and accurate plans must be devised.”
