Speaking to NIPNA, Ahmad
Nematbakhsh said that polymeric materials play an important role in the automotive
and parts industry today, adding, "In the current situation, petrochemical
companies fully meet the needs of the automotive market, and they supply the
market well."
He added: "Although the need
for polymer materials in the automotive and parts industry is met through the
commodity exchange and in some cases, this has caused losses for these
companies, the positive role of petrochemical companies in the automotive and
parts industry cannot be denied."
Regarding the position of the
petrochemical industry in the country's economic prosperity and production leap,
Nematbakhsh said: "One of the benefits of sanctions is that more attention
has been given to the downstream industries in the oil and gas industry, and
the sector was taken more seriously during the embargo."
The secretary of the Automobile
Manufacturers Association said: "Investing in the petrochemical industry
is very important, so increasing investment in this industry by observing completion
of the value chain, appropriate development and production of final items, can
play a role in the country's industrial development. The development of the
petrochemical industry can also affect various sectors of the Iranian
automotive industry.”
