Speaking to
NIPNA, Adl Hashemipour, vice president of the energy committee of the Iranian parliament,
said the industry played a key role in the country’s capital market, adding Iran’s
petrochemical industry must be regarded as one of the largest suppliers of
various polymer and chemical products in the world.
He further stated
that the industry had major shares in the capital market as well as non-oil
exports of the country, adding developments in the sector directly impact the
economy of the country.
“The petrochemical
industry is one of the creators of jobs in the country which can feed other
industrial sectors,” the MP added.
He said Iran expected
a major leap in its petrochemical sector in the near future despite the
sanctions and the coronavirus outbreak.
