Jalal Mirhashemi, NPC’s director of production control, said
Iran’s petrochemical industry, given its potentialities and existing infrastructures,
was being prepared for a production leap.

Khamenei has entitled the current calendar as the year of “Production Leap”.
Mirhashemi further said that projects had been devised
throughout the country to enhance the sector’s yield in line with the year’s
motto.
Moreover, the spare capacity of other facilities will be
tapped in order to boost their output and supply new items, he added.
Iran is bracing for the second leap in its petrochemical industry
by 2021 which would bring its annual production capacity from currently 66
million tons per year to over 100 mt/y.
