Speaking to
NIPNA, Ali Naghib, who is a member of the chamber’s Industry and Mining
Committee, stressed that petrochemical development leads to increased non-oil
exports, adding the petrochemical industry is a reliable support for the
Iranian economy, given its favorable revenues and acceptable exports.
"The
petrochemical industry is an integral part of the oil industry and a piece to
this huge chain, so the development process and plans cannot be independent of
other sectors of the industry," said the official.
He added:
"There are many opportunities to invest in Iran's petroleum, gas and
petrochemical industries, among which investing in the petrochemical sector is
of particular importance due to the prevention of crude oil and gas sales and production
of end user items."
Naqib
emphasized that the implementation of petrochemical projects amid the US
sanctions and economic problems is a sign that the petrochemical industry is on
the path to development.
