Speaking to
NIPNA, Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of projects at the National
Petrochemical Company (NPC), said using state-of-the-art technologies
could facilitate materialization of the second and third leaps in the industry.
He said access to the latest technologies was a major concern for production
of new items and completion of the value chain, adding production of propylene
from methanol and application of new catalysts in production of petrochemicals were
areas where new technical knowhow became necessary.
The NPC official further added that use of new generation catalysts was
always a major concern in the petrochemical industry, adding the Petrochemical
Research and Technology Company (PRTC) was seriously concerned with production
of the items locally.
The use of new technologies and knowledge of the world will create
high value added in this industry, Bossaqzadeh went on to add. “Research and
technology, knowledge-based companies and start-ups play an important and
influential role in optimizing the use of existing capacities in the country.”
