Speaking to NIPAN,
Omid Shahidinia said the corridor facilitated export of petrochemicals in the
region, adding the jetties of the zone were designed for exporting liquid petrochemicals
and solid ones would be exported from the jetties of Bandar Imam Port.
He further said that
mechanism to export only through Bandar Imam Port slowed down export operations,
adding one of the bottlenecks of export terminal was the customs red tape which
had been alleviated in the new export facilities in the PETZONE.
The official went
on to add that plans were under way to start exporting items in containers from
the PETZONE.
