Iran Eyes $37b in Petchem Revenues by 2026

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The value of Iran’s petrochemical products is expected to reach $37 billion by 2026, Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said.

The official told the Energy Committee of the parliament that two leaps had been materialized in Iran’s petrochemical industry so far with the first one having taken place in the 2010s and the second leap to be realized by 2021.

He also said that preparations had started for the third leap in the industry to come to fruition by 2025.

Zangeneh added that by 2026 Iran’s petrochemical production capacity would exceed 130 million tons per year, generating $37 billion for the country.
