Speaking to NIPNA, Mehdi Sharifi Niknafs noted the necessity
of completion of the industry’s value chain, adding the supply chain needed to
be seriously developed in order to ensure progress in downstream industries.
“This would both bring about value added and generate
jobs in the country,” he added, saying exports would also benefit from value
chain completion.
Sharifi Niknafs said that if value chain becomes
complete and methanol is converted into polymeric materials in downstream industries,
a whole chain will be created.
For the expansion of downstream industries, “we need to
create a coherent mechanism to ensure that all the petrochemical plants could
benefit from based on their feedstock demand and production capacity,” he
added.
