Speaking to NIPNA, the director of production control at the National
Petrochemical Company (NPC), Ghodratollah Farajpour, said new records had been
broken in the plants operating in western Iran.
The official said since the beginning of the previous Iranian calendar
year, which began on March 21, 2018, Lorestan Petrochemical Complex showed
roughly 5% production growth, while Kermanshah Polymer Plant showed 8%,
Kurdistan Plant 18%, and Mahabad Plant 8% production growth compared to the
preceding year.
He said that Ilam Petrochemical Plant would become operational this
year, adding that last year, Kavian plant, as the main supplier of feedstock to
the West Ethylene Pipeline, registered a 36 percent production growth
year-on-year, which meant more feedstock would be available for the plants that
are being fed by the strategic pipeline.
