Lordegan Petchem Plant Being Built in 3 Phases

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Lordegan Ammonia and Urea Project is being built with €502 million and is expected to come on-stream in 2019 or early 2020.

 

The plant’s CEO, Mosen Mahmoudi, speaking during a visit to the plant by the CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), said that the project was designed to supply 1.755 million tons of products per annum and had already progressed by more than 94 percent.

He said the project was expected to come online in the current year or 2020, adding the project was being built in three phases with the first one being construction of the utilities unit which would become operational in the first half of the next Iranian calendar year which starts on March 21.

He also said that the urea and ammonia units of the plant would also come online later next calendar year. 

Mr. Mahmoudi said one of the features of the project was converting the laymen labor to skilled ones. 

He also stated that the project had created 2,300 jobs so far. 

Ammonia is primarily used for production of chemical fertilizers.
