The director
of production control at National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Ghodratollah
Farajpour, said the plants operated on average at 77 percent of their nameplate
capacity during the period despite all the difficulties they had faced that
were caused by fluctuations in the FOREX market.
He said
the output was 3 percent higher year-on-year, adding an output of 54.7 million
tons of petrochemicals was expected in the sector by the end of the year, 2%
higher than last year.
Last year,
Iranian petrochemical plants produced 53.6 mt of products, operating at 85% of
their nameplate capacity.
