TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Kavian Petrochemical Plant is planning to boost its ethylene output by 15% in a matter of two years, the company’s CEO said.

Speaking to NIPNA, Ramezan Owladi said given the enhanced ethane production from South Pars gas field within the next two years, the company is studying possible methods to boost its ethylene output from the ethane.

The biggest producer of ethylene in Iran, Kavian Petrochemical Plant can supply over 2 million tons of ethylene annually.

The raised output of the company will be made possible by revising production processes and optimizing operations, he added.

All the ethylene produced at Kavian Petrochemical Facility is injected to the West Ethylene Pipeline for feeding 12 petrochemical plants along the country’s western territories.
