Speaking to
NIPNA, Alireza Sedighizadeh said India is the company’s biggest buyer, adding the
plant has the capacity of providing 30,000 tons of the item annually.
Aniline is
also used as feedstock for methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) production
unit of the facility.
The plant
supplied 70,000 tons of MDI annually.
It invested
nearly half a billion Euros for constructing its MDI and toluene diisocyanate (TDI)
units.
Karoon
Petrochemical Plant is the first and only supplier of isocyanates in the Middle
East.
Launched in
2008, the plant can supply 40,000 tons/year of TDI under Switzerland’s
Chemature license as well.
