Speaking to NIPNA, Gholamreza Jokar said the unit has been operating for nearly a year at 90% of its nameplate capacity supplying 300,000 tons of MEG.
The unit is designed to supply 550,000 tons of MEG annually, he said.
Jokar added that 95% of the plant’s MEG output is exported to China and India each buying 350,000 and 70,000 tons of the products respectively.
Moreover, Morvarid Petrochemical Plant’s ethylene unit operated at 80% of its capacity given supply of more feedstock from newly-launched phases of the supergiant South Pars gas field in Persian Gulf waters.
