Addressing the opening ceremony of the 24th Tehran Oil Show,
Zangeneh said 18 petrochemical projects would come online during the current
Iranian calendar year which began on March 21 and the following year to March
2021.
Given enhanced production of ethane in the country, all the olefin
units in the country can be fed by feedstock.
He said the projects with more physical progress were priorities over
other ones for development.
Once operational, the projects would bring Iran’s petrochemical output
to 50 million tons per year, generating 36 billion dollars based on the current
prices, he argued.
“Enhanced production could be translated into more demand for
engineering and commodity services,” he added.
