Homayoun Yousefi told NIPNA
thanked petrochemical companies which offered contributions to the flood-hit
people in the southwestern province of Khuzestan in recent weeks, saying, "The
assistance of petrochemical companies to address the problems of flood victims
is worthy of praise."
"Given the emergence of
national resolve to help flood victims in this incident, the glory of national coherence
was outstanding.”
The
plants operating in the flood-stricken areas are carrying out social
responsibility measures to serve the local people who were seriously affected
by heavy rainfalls and the ensuing inundation in recent weeks.
Included
among these plants that offered support to the flood-hit citizens was Amir
Kabir Petrochemical Plant which offered one-day pay of its managers and senior
staff for the expenses of clearing up the mud and accommodating the people.
The
company also sent food consignments to the region which entailed rice, chicken,
and conserved food as well as detergents and plastic rolls for protection
against cold.
The
recent flooding was unprecedented in the past 50 years in Iran and has so far
claimed at least 70 deaths.
Arvand,
Kermanshah, Shazand, Bistoun, Tondgouyan, and Pars petrochemical companies have
also donated consignments and offered cash or in-kind contributions to the
flood-hit regions.
