Speaking
to NIPNA, Mehdi Pourghazi said conversion of items into final products in the
petrochemical industry was a step in the path of self-sufficiency and job
creation in the country.
He
said exploitation of important petrochemical projects could generate jobs and
value for the country, adding: "I believe that implementation of
petrochemical projects or the further development of this industry is a step in
the direction of creation of jobs for the youth and self-sufficiency, in line with
the principles of resilient economy for the country.”
The
official added that the development of petrochemical industry could simultaneously
jack up non-oil exports, which would lead to a decrease in crude oil and gas sales,
while generating more income for the country and creating employment.
Pourghazi
underscored the fact that Iran's petrochemical industry had made progress in
spite of economic restrictions and sanctions, saying: "Without a doubt,
moving towards realization of the resilient economy in all aspects and sectors
of the country is a priority, therefore, the sectors that are considered to
bear economic benefits for the country should also be viewed as a priority.”
