According to Shazand Petrochemical Company, the project is
aimed at enhancing ethylene oxide output of the country as well as improving
the efficiency of catalysts used in the plant.
The 12-year contract is aimed at replacing nitrogen with pure
methane as a regulatory gas in the ethylene oxide unit reactor of the company by
using reforming technologies.
Once operational, the project is expected to ensure improved
catalyst efficiency, enhanced ethylene oxide output by 5,000 tons per year,
reduced power consumption and other utilities in Shazand Petrochemical Facility.
