TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- A meeting was held at Parsian Energy Intensive Industrial Special Economic Zone (PSEZ) in which the region’s master development plan was tabled.

The meeting, which was arranged at PSEZ, was held in the presence of the Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh, the CEO of the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation, known as IMIDRO, and the head of PSEZ.

During the meeting, the MDP envisaged that PSEZ would become the third petrochemicals hub of Iran after Assaluyeh in the southern province of Bushehr and Mahshahr in the southwestern province of Khuzestan.

IMIDRO and PSEZ CEOs also elaborated on their companies’ potentialities in regard to developing petrochemicals projects in the area.

Following the meeting, Mr. Zangeneh said that the area could turn into a new petrochemicals hub in Iran where 2,000 hectares of land could be allocated to construction of downstream petrochemicals facilities.
