During the visit, the official learned about the latest
developments in the 1.775-million-ton/year urea and 680,000 t/y ammonia project.
Mr. Mohammadi, who is also deputy petroleum minister for
petrochemicals affairs, also held a meeting with the plant’s officials expounding
on its plans and challenges.
“The petrochemical industry, given the fact that it is
a generative sector, is of crucial importance in the country’s economy, and the
Iranian Ministry of Petroleum and the National Petrochemical Company are keenly
focused on its development and completion of petrochemical projects,” he said
during the meeting.
The project is scheduled to come online next Iranian calendar
year which starts on March 21.
