According to the plant’s PR office, the old transformer of the facility was worn-out and needed replacement but due to the sanctions, new ones could
not be imported, therefore it was decided that a new one be obtained by
domestic procurers, here, Iran Transfo Co.
As a result, a new transformer was built by the company was was
installed by Amir Kabir Petrochemical Plant’s experts without relying on foreign
technicians.
The new transformer operates at a capacity of 10 megavolt-amperes.
The old transformer, designed by the Spanish company Alstom, was
designed with a capacity of 7.5 megavolt-amperes for powering a 5.6-MW
electromotor and an 8-megawatt drive.
