Iran 8-Month Petchem Output at 36.7 MT

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iranian petrochemical plants supplied 36.7 million tons of petrochemicals in the first 8 months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21, exporting $8.1 billion worth of items.

The 20 plants operating in Mahshahr Petrochemical Zone in the southwestern province of Khuzestan provided nearly 13 million tons of items during the period.

Moreover, the 16 plants operating in Assaluyeh, southern Iran, supplied 16.4 million tons of products during the same period. 

 The other plants operating in various parts of the country were also accountable for the supply of 7.3 million tons of products during the period. 

 Moreover, exports stood at 14 million tons with a total value of 8.1 billion dollars.
