Speaking
to NIPNA, the chairman of the Civil Affairs Committee of the Iranian Parliament,
Mohammad Reza Kouchi, said the petrochemical industry was the most valuable sector
for the country, adding, "In the current state of the country's economy,
petrochemicals are considered to be economic drivers.”
He
further stressed the need for government and the parliament to support the
development of the petrochemical industry, saying that petrochemical companies,
as private institutions, producers and entrepreneurs, could bring the greatest
amount of revenues to the country.
The MP
said that the petrochemical sector was pivot of non-oil exports for Iran, and
the balanced development of this industry and the production of end-user items could
lead to generation of more value-added products domestically.
