Petchem Regulator Needed to Integrate Industry: Official

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- A member of the Industry and Mine Committee of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce says a regulator can have a constructive role in promoting the petrochemical industry in Iran by integrating petrochemical companies.

Speaking to NIPNA, Mohsen Khalili Araghi said that the regulatory body would undoubtedly accelerate the development of the petrochemical industry in all its sectors, adding regulation could play a constructive role for the petrochemical industry by creating a unity and more interaction among petrochemical companies.

 The official pointed out that the Iranian petrochemical industry was accelerating with the use of modern knowledge and technologies and by relying on domestic experts, and said: “Attention to the downstream industries and the lowering sale of crude oil and gas in pursuit of the resilient economy are key to completing the value-chain in the petrochemical industry.”

 He said that petrochemical companies enjoy great capacity for development in all sectors and could generate value-added in the industry.
