TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The CEO of Pardis Petrochemical Plant said the plants producing urea in Iran are supplying the item in the domestic market in a satisfactory manner.

Speaking to NIPNA, Hossein Shahryari said a consortium of urea exporters is to be established in Iran, adding currently five petrochemical plants are exporting urea in the country.

Comprised of three phases, Pardis Petrochemical Plant provides 1.075 million tons of urea in each phase, supplying 65 percent of the country's urea exports. Last week, the third phase of the plant came on-stream.

Mr. Shahryari further said a company needed to be formed to orchestrate urea exports of petrochemical plants across Iran given the fact that several projects are operational and a number of others are under way.
