TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Experts at Iran's Fajr Petrochemical Plant successfully revamped the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system of the facility's water treatment unit at minimum costs.

An uninterruptible power supply or uninterruptible power source (UPS) is an electrical apparatus that provides emergency power to a load when the input power source or mains power fails.

During several months, with the efforts of the expert personnel of Fajr Petrochemical Plant, and with the cooperation of a domestic knowledge-based company, control and feeding cards for the UPS system of the water treatment unit 2 of the complex, were resorted at with the lowest cost.

The system was seriously damaged in an incident last September and the plant's experts started off restoring it despite all the complexities of the system.

The electric cards used in the system were either outdated or no longer produced or were targeted by international sanctions. Therefore, the plant's management decided to put on agenda their domestic production.

For the design and construction of electronic cards, advanced reverse engineering techniques were used, and Fajr Petrochemical Company is not only able to supply its internal demand for the item, but it is also ready to transfer its experiences as technical advice to other companies.
