Addressing a ceremony to officially inaugurate three
major petrochemical projects in southern Iran, the official said: "Today
is a day of economic and psychological warfare against the Iranian people, and
at the forefront of this war are the sectors that bear the burden of the
economy, and the most important of them are the oil, gas and petrochemical
industries."
Phase III of Pardis Petrochemical Plant, Marjan
Methanol Unit and Phase I of Damavand Petrochemical Utility Complex were
officially launched on Tuesday.
"Inauguration of three huge petrochemical projects
in a single day proves that we will address the problems and the enemies will
not be able to stop the Iranian people in the path to progress," the
official said.
Mr. Rouhani said enemies can impose difficulties
on the people but, "it would be impossible for them to dominate Iran and Iranians."
The president noted the opening of major petrochemical
projects, and stated: "Implementation of these projects is a step in the
direction of youth employment, self-sufficiency, resilient economy and generation
of currency for the country."
He said construction of some of the projects that
were launched today began under the sanctions, adding they are being launched
at a time the enemy is making designs for fresh sanctions on the country.
