TEHRAN (NIPNA) – A member of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce says removing Iran's petrochemical products from the global market, especially the southeastern Asian market, is impossible.

Speaking to NIPNA, Ahmad Pourfallah said, "We must tap all the potentialities of the petrochemical industry in favor of the country's economy and create value added, and in this way the role of the private sector is very influential."

He said Iran's potentiality to develop the petrochemical industry is unique and should be supported by the resolve of all the industrialists in the petrochemical sector.

"The level of supply and demand for petrochemicals in the world is well defined and established; thus, removing Iranian petrochemical products from the global market is impossible," Pourfallah said.

He said Iran's petrochemical industry is remarkably capable of developing, saying, "Iran has a unique capacity for the development of downstream projects, and if we move towards completion of the value chain, we will benefit a lot in the future."

"The petrochemical industry is considered to be a lucrative industry, whose development will undoubtedly lead to the strengthening of various sectors of the country's economy."
