TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Managing Director of Pars Petrochemical Complex Masoud Hassani said his company is devising plans to diversify its trade partners.

Speaking to NIPNA, the official said the complex is currently generating IRR 30 billion annually and produces such items as ethane, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), styrene, ethyl benzene and styrene monomer.

The plant can supply one million tons of petrochemicals annually, he added.

He added ethane is produced in the complex and is transferred to Arya Sasol Plant to be converted into ethyl benzene.

The official also added that plans were devised by the company to safeguard it against sanctions and drop in demand or lack of feedstock.

"We know how to render the sanctions ineffective, so we will have no problem in this regard," he said, and added that empowering foreign partners was one of the strategies to safeguard the company against sanctions.
