Ilam Petchem Plant Lauded for Protecting Environment

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Ilam Petrochemical Company was honored as the top subsidiary of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) for preservation of the environment.

According to the company's public relations, Rouhollah Remezani, head of the HSE department of the company, said the plant was recognized as the best PGPIC subsidiary for protection of the environment and following environmental standards in its operations.

"This honor is the result of the efforts of all the company's staff in various units specially HSE department as well as its managerial team," he said.

PGPIC, in conjunction with major international companies in line with the United Nations' environmental protocol on sustainable development, has evaluated its subsidiaries in different environmental fields, which include thirteen topics and encompasses a total of 1,000 points, he said.

Persian Gulf Holding governs dozens of state-run petrochemical companies including: Bandar Imam Petrochemical Plant, Arvand Petrochemical Plant, Shahid Tondguyan Petrochemical Plant, Bou Ali Sina Petrochemical Plant, Fajr Petrochemical Plant, Khuzestan Petrochemical Plant, Petrochemical Non-Industrial Operations Company, Rah Avaran Fonoun Jonoub Company, Nouri Petrochemical Company, Pars Petrochemical Plant, Mobin Petrochemical Plant, Pazargard Non-Industrial Operations Company, Petrochemical Industries Development Management Company, Petrochemical Commercial Company and International Petrochemical Company.
