Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of projects at
the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), told a gathering of senior petrochemical
officials on Thursday that projects were under way to consume the surplus
ethane output of the country and reduce it to 1 mt which must be exploited
efficiently.
“Fortunately, very good measures have so far been
taken to supply feedstock of petrochemical and there are no feedstock shortages
for the plants operating in Asaluyeh (southern Iran),” the official said.
He also stated that the National Iranian Gas Company
(NIGC) had devised plans to enhance supply of feedstock to the petrochemical facilities
that run on natural gas, adding NIGC is in close ties with NPC which result is
guaranteed feedstock supply to petrochemical plants.
Bossaqzadeh, who is also a member of the board of
directors of NPC, further added that as several projects including Bandar Emam
Olefin Unit and Bushehr Petrochemical Plant are scheduled to come on-stream in
the near future, the industry would have no trouble for feedstock supply.
