TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The Deputy Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Energy Committee said the petrochemical industry of the country was ready for absorbing fresh investments in the sector for rapid development.

Speaking to NIPNA, Ali Adyani, pointing out that conditions were palatable for the development of the petrochemical industry in all its dimensions, said the drastic increase in the export of various types of polymeric and chemical products is proof of this fact.

The MP also underlined the need for cooperation of all the petrochemical industrialists in the country, saying, "Fortunately, the industry has been on the development path and can be exploited through new projects and increased production capacity in order to materialize the sector's second major leap."

He added that the petrochemical industry must tap all the available potentialities of the private sector in order to progress rapidly.

As Adyani continued, building and completing the infrastructure, along with increased funding for development projects, could give fresh impetus to the petrochemical industry of the country.
