Director of Production Control at the National Petrochemical Company
(NPC) Ghodratollah Farajpour announced implementation of a number of projects
to optimize and increase the production capacity of the country's petrochemical
industry in the calendar year of 1397.
The production and export of various polymer and petrochemical products
in the current calendar year are aimed at in launching the projects, he said,
adding Marjan and Kaveh petrochemical plants are scheduled to come on-stream in
the first half of the year with the annual production capacity of 1.65 and 2.3
million tons per year, respectively.
He added: "Considering the 92 percent progress of Bushehr Ethane
Production Unit, it is hoped that this unit will be launched this year."
Referring to ongoing efforts to complete the remaining phases of South
Pars gas field, as well as to improve the efficiency of ethane production in the
field's existing phases, Farajpour added: "The growth in ethylene
production by 650,000 tons in the olefin units of Asaluyeh in 1397 is expected
to increase production of various types of polyethylene by about 630,000 tons."
According to him, optimizing and improving the capacity of the MTBE
unit of Bandar Emam Petrochemical Plant (increasing
the unit's production capacity by 150,000 tons per year), optimizing the H-Poly
unit of the Tondgooyan Petrochemical Complex to increase its output capacity by
26,000 tons per year, planned capacity-building corrective projects at
Fanavaran Petrochemical Complex, construction of the second unit of PBR
production at 50,000 tons in Takht Jamshid Complex in Mahshahr, production of
40,000 tons of potassium sulfate at Urumia Petrochemical Complex, LTE
separation in Noori Petrochemical Complex, eliminating operational bottlenecks of
Phase 2 of Kavian Petrochemical Complex, projects to increase the capacity of
olefin units in the Arya Sasol, Jam, Morvarid and Kavian petrochemical plants,
and the purchase and installation of a 350-ton auxiliary boiler for increasing
the steam production capacity and increasing the capacity of the desalting unit
by 7,500 cubic meters per day at Mobin Petrochemical Complex, are some of the
most important projects pursued by NPC in the current calendar year.
