TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran's Noori Petrochemical Company generated a total of one billion dollars by exporting petrochemicals on international markets since late March 2017.

The company, touted as the biggest producer of aromatics in the world, supplied nearly 3.5 million tons of petrochemicals during the period and generated over a billion dollars by exporting 60% of it on international markets.

The company sold the rest of its output on the domestic market.

In December and November, the company underwent its biggest overhaul since inception for a period of 45 days with the aim of eliminating production bottlenecks and increasing production efficiency, increasing the quality and purity of the products and consequently, achievement of sustainable profitability.

It is worth noting that, in addition to supplying neighboring petrochemicals, as well as domestic demand, the plant exports part of its output including paraxylene, o-Xylene (ortho-xylene), raffinate and heavy cuts, to various countries including Persian Gulf littoral states, India, China, South Korea, and other countries.
