TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran is building a complex for production of different grades of polystyrene in a bid to complete the sector’s value chain and generate value added from gas condensate, ultralight crude oil.

According to National Petrochemical Company (NPC)’s director of projects Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, construction of the park will be fed by monostyrene that is produced from ethylbenzene supplied by Pars Petrochemical Plant.

The official added that the park comprises Entekhab, Takht Jamshid Pars, Pad Jam, Sadaf and Dalahou petrochemical facilities of which some have become productive.

Entekhab and Takh Jamshid Pars complexes have become operational so far, he added.

Sadaf Petrochemical Plant is 40% complete and will come online by March 2020, the official claimed.

Bossaqzadeh further said Pad Jam project will also come online next year and Dalahou Plant is 65 percent complete so far and will become operational within the next two years.
