Gowin Joe, a
senior nitrogen advisor with the CRU, told the first specialized conference on nitrogen
and gas synthesis in Tehran that given the fact that China has seriously curbed
its urea exports, Iran can become the biggest exporter of the item in the world
in the coming years.
The curbs
will bring China’s urea exports to 4.5 million tons per year while the item’s
price has increased recently, he added.
The senior
analyst further said that Iran and Russia have increased their urea production
capacity in recent years which will make up for the deficit caused in the
market by major producer China.
He said in the
coming years, China will no longer be considered a major exporter of urea,
adding Iran is expected to replace China as the biggest supplier of the item by
2022.
