1.3mt Ethane Fed to Petchem Plants in 7 Months

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- A total of 1.33 million tons of ethane was fed to ethylene-producing plants in Asalouyeh over the course of the first 7 months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21.

According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), the ethane was produced from various phases of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field in Persian Gulf during the period.

The item is processed into ethylene for feeding petrochemical plants across the country.

South Pars refineries supplied nearly 75 billion cubic meters of methane (sweet gas) during the period, NIGC said.

Furthermore, the company supplied 1.3 million tons of ethane to Jam, Kavian and Morvarid petrochemical plants for production propane and butane to be fed by petrochemical facilities.
