According to the National Iranian Gas Company
(NIGC), the ethane was produced from various phases of the supergiant South
Pars Gas Field in Persian Gulf during the period.
The item is processed into ethylene for
feeding petrochemical plants across the country.
South Pars refineries supplied nearly 75 billion
cubic meters of methane (sweet gas) during the period, NIGC said.
Furthermore, the company supplied 1.3
million tons of ethane to Jam, Kavian and Morvarid petrochemical plants for production
propane and butane to be fed by petrochemical facilities.
