Managing Director
of Petrochemical Commercial Company (PCC) Mehdi Sharifi Niknafs said the
company will be aimed at facilitating petrochemical exports of the country.
“We need to
buy 150 petrochemical carriers in order to facilitate petrochemical exports of
the country,” he added, saying Iran’s petrochemical exporters spent nearly
$1.5b for exporting their items last year.
Regarding that
fact that Iran exports 30 to 35 million tons of petrochemicals, liquefied petroleum
gas and gas condensate annually, formation of such a company would be a
necessity in the sector, Niknafs argued.
Iran has over
50 petrochemical projects under construction which will dramatically increase
the country’s exports once operational.
