Iran Eyes 10 mt Added to Petchem Output by March 2018

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran's petrochemical production capacity is estimated reach 72 million tons per year from currently 62 mt/y once 4 new petrochemical projects become operational by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 20 2018.

The projects include phase III of Paradis Petrochemical Plant with 1.755 million tons of urea and ammonia production capacity (99.5% compete), Kaveh Petrochemical Plant with 2.310 mt of methanol production capacity (98% complete), Marjan Petrochemical Plant with 1.65 mt/y of production capacity (95% complete) and Bushehr Plant's ethane and methanol recovery units with 4.11 mt/y of capacity (90% complete).

Once operational the units will add nearly 10 million tons to the country's petrochemical production capacity.
