Mehdi Gharouni told NIPNA that the project is being carried with the aim of
completing the value chain.
He said the project has so
far made 60% physical progress, adding many items required for construction of the
project have been procured by domestic suppliers.
The once operational, the
unit will generate value added for the company's output which can be used for
production of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), he added.
Naphtha is a flammable liquid
hydrocarbon mixture. Mixtures labelled naphtha have been produced from natural
gas condensates, petroleum distillates, and the distillation of coal tar and
peat.
In different industries and
regions naphtha may also be crude oil or refined products such as kerosene.
Mineral spirits, also historically known as "naptha", are not the
same chemical.
