TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The managing director of Maroon Petrochemical Company says Germany's gas manufacturer Linde is about to start engineering studies on two petrochemical projects in the facility.

The projects are an ethane recovery unit and an enhanced ethane production project at Maroon Petrochemical Complex, Rahim Sharif Mousavi told NIPNA.

"We have signed a contract with the Linde Group for licensing and engineering of two projects at Maroon Plant," he said.

Mr. Mousavi further said that Linde has started studies on the two projects already.

A part of the feedstock needed for the project will be supplied from the NGL 1500 project which is aimed at collecting associated gases.

Once operational, the projects will bring the company's ethylene production capacity to 1.2 million tons annually from currently 1.1 mt/y, he said.

Moreover, propylene output of the facility will increase by 100,000 tons per year.
