Morteza Azizi said the
company is about to start construction of the plant with technical support and
licensing of Linde Group. The deal to develop the project was signed in the
wake of eased sanctions on Tehran's nuclear program in the post-Joint
Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) setting.
The project is to develop for
production of new petrochemical and polymer products and completion of the
sector's value chain, he said.
"Besides licensing the project and
providing engineering services, Linde has signaled readiness to invest in the
project," Azizi noted.
Once operational, the
facility will annuallysupply 4 million tons of various petrochemical products
including ethylene, propylene, Para xylene, orthoenzene, styrene, propylene
oxide, and butadiene.
The plant's feedstock will
include naphtha produced by SIRAF Refinery Park, light cuts from Noori
Petrochemical Plant, carbon and heavy cuts from Kavian, Mehr, Morvarid
Petrochemical Plant and ethane produced by South Pars refineries.
