TEHRAN (NINPA) -- Germany’s Black Forest has indicated readiness to transfer wastewater management technologies to Iranian petrochemical plants in a bid to save the environment.

Sebastian Fischer, director of planning at the Germany company, told NIPNA that his company is planning to offer solutions for treating industrial wastewater produced by petrochemical plants in Iran.

“We have recently learned that Iranian companies have taken positive measures in limiting natural gas flaring and managing greenhouse gases,” the official added.

He said German government has offered a generous budget to wastewater management programs so they can carry out feasibility studies on projects for free.

Fischer said the projects can then be funded by Iranian or international investors after feasibility studies are concluded.

He said Iran’s Department of Environment has inked a deal with Germany’s Ministry of Environment in this regard which will be enforced by late 2017.

“The German government is very serious about implementation of this project so that many environmental hazards are addressed in Iran,” the official added.

“We introduce wastewater management projects to private companies in petrochemical sector,” he added.
