Iran 2-Month Petchem Output hits 9mt

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Production of petrochemicals in the first two months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21 reached 9 million metric tons, Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said.

 

According to a report by the NPC, the industry's output in the month of Ordibehesht, second month in Iranian calendar (April 21-May 21), was 4.4 million tons. 

Iranian petrochemical plants can supply 72 million tons of products annually. However, due to lack of feedstock, an output of 58.9 million tons has been predicted for the sector this year. 

Moreover, 2.7mt of products were sold on the domestic market in the two months with a total value of IRR 53,517.5b. 

Furthermore, 3.4mt of products were exported during the two months fetching $1,673m. 

Ilam, Carbon Iran, and Laleh petrochemical plants were the most prolific facilities during the period.
